Pierce Hopkins Memorial Scholarship
Annabelle Hopkins established a full scholarship for young people to attend MARBLEmarble in memory of her son, Pierce Hopkins, who loved attending the Symposium. Past recipients include AJ Davis who is gaining a national reputation as a professional muralist, and Ben Kimura who has been attending MARBLEmarble since he was a college student and is now sculpting semi-professionally.
“Pierce Owen Hopkins, age 24, had his journey tragically cut short on November 22, 2021 in Colorado. Sculpting and artistic welding were creative passions for Pierce. Pierce was so committed to these passions, that he chose to work for a short time in industrial welding, so he could expand his practical knowledge of welding and apply that craftsmanship to his artistic endeavors. He had many creative ideas and dreams, constantly coming up with new ways to learn and grow. ”
We are truly grateful for Pierce’s exceptional enthusiasm and the energy that he brought to everything he did here at MARBLEmarble. Annabelle, thank you for your unwavering support during this difficult time as we pay tribute to Pierce’s memory.
