Sadly, our friend and longtime guest instructor Kazutaka Uchida has passed. His presence filled our hearts with inspiration. He was always warm and engaged. Everyone who spent time with him knew he would think deeply about their art. With clarity, his observations and suggestions were steeped in sculptural thinking. He wanted to help. His knowledge of material and form was shared with brevity and clarity. All this is rounded out with a playful spirit, always curious and eager to participate. He filled Marble with his calm character. 

He will be deeply missed.
